Allotments and Gardens Association

Gardening is good for you…

The purpose of our association is to foster interest in gardening in Comberton and this is mostly achieved by holding a Spring Plant Sale in May and an Open Show in September, which not only covers Vegetables, Fruit and Flowers but also has classes for Handicrafts, Cookery, Photography, Art, Wine Making and many classes for children to show their creativity.

We also hold a Best Kept Allotment competition with the winner holding the Watt’s Silver Salver for a year.

Regrettably all our events for 2020 had to be cancelled but since opening up in 2021 we have held a Summer BBQ; the Autumn Show was held on Saturday 18th September in the Meridian School and our AGM for 2021 is arranged for Wednesday November 24th in the Village Hall.

Long Road: We manage the Parish Council Allotments off of Long Road, North of Fox’s Way; there are 32 full plots of approximately 5-8 poles (150-250 Sq yds) , but let as full or half plots. These are available to all but priority is given to villagers if there is a waiting list.

Plot rental for 2020/21 is £15 for a full plot and £7.50 for a half plot; the rental year runs from 1st November. Membership of Comberton Allotments & Gardens Association (CA&GA) stands at £2 per annum. For further information contact the secretary, Robin Worship email: @ .
